((cicatrix))

Born as yet another side project of Julian Adam Burdzyński, also known as VIRDEM, ((cicatrix)) brings out the more electronic side of its experimentation, building sound and recording strictly on digital modular synthesis. ((cicatrix)) combines dark ambient, harsh noise, IDM, drone, glitch and experimental electronic music a step further with an anti-musical ethos and rhythm-focused music.

Anti-melodic elements of ((cicatrix)) were originally born as an obstacle due to the complex work-arounds with quantization, frequency manipulation and sequencing on modular synthesis, but ((cicatrix)) embraces these difficulties, not only exploiting the microtonal frequencies but also using standard sequencing and quantization.

Strictly inspired by Coil, Merzbow, The Gerogerigegege and Xiu Xiu, ((cicatrix)) is open for a collective identity, collaboration, experimentation and takes its time with musical production and releasing.
